This marks one side of the cutout with front and back marked. I use a small plywood jig with a slot to guide a Dremel with a 2 mm drill bit to make the cutout.

I tape off the slot before gluing in the horn to keep it neat. The tape is slightly off the slot to allow for a small filet of glue. The tape is removed before the glue hardens just like you would tape off a caulking joint around a door or window.

This is where the servo will sit. I make a template for the servo mount out of balsa first as it is easier to fit. the balsa stick glued to it allows easier placement.

One issue was that this servo comes with the wire coming out the side. No way to slip the servo in place with the rubber wire sleeve facing that way. I would have had to redesign how I was mounting it. I was able to re route the wire through a new cutout in the bottom of the case.

There is a block of balsa in the aileron to glue the horn into. It is positioned so you could use some really long servo arms. Probably could be moved over a bit but serves our purpose.

I am using Secraft ball links which have a ball that measures just under 4mm when sitting properly. So the edge of the horn should be 11.5mm plus half of the ball link so 13.5mm from the edge of the servo case. The other side of the horn is 1.5mm further

The slot was drilled just like the elevator slots and the horn was glued in with 30 minute epoxy and micro balloons. I made a little jig to hold the horn in place and perpendicular to the aileron surface.
